Moeraki Boulders

 Moeraki Boulders

One of the Moeraki Boulders, submerged by the incoming tide.
We travelled through rolling countryside of fields and pastures for cows and sheep.
We cut off from the main road to the small village of Moeraki, famous for its Moeraki Boulders, giant spherical balls of rock lying on the shore.
Some were on the water's edge...
...and some seemed to have recently been washed out of the cliffs.
There were several patches of boulders...
...and another photo to give an idea of how big they actually are, despite this one being half buried.
