Through the Rif Mountains to Fez

We left Chefchaouen for a long drive day to reach Fez. WE passed through more mountains with rough scrubland.
It was cold but the sun was heating up the air by mid morning.
More views of the mountain scenery.

A date palm with the fruit hanging in large bunches. A long time ago, before I worked in insurance, I used to work in a date plantation for a year and this really made me feel at home again.
Storks nesting on top off an electricity pylon.
After the mountains we crossed a rolling plateau with fertile soils and extensive fields.

A lunch stop on the side of the road.
And the view that we had as we ate lunch.
And then in mid afternoon we arrived in the outskirts of Fez and picked up our local guide and drove to our campsite.
