We finally left Lake Laberge and were back on the moving river. Our passage was eased along the lake that morning as the wind was behind us. Jonas had rigged up a sail and that made progress effortless. Bob and held it whilst everyone else sat and relaxed. Gisela and Michael are sitting either side of me.
On our stop at Lower Laberge village whch is abandoned, we looked in at the telegraph office and found a procupine in the rafters. It seemed quite happy to stay where it was.
Also at the village was an old rusty pickup and several of us had to pose with it, Norman sold outside but there's a great photo of Bob being farmer Giles down on the farm.
After Lake Laberge is a section of the Yukon called the Thirty Mile River. We stopped for a late lunch on an island on the inside of a bend and whilst some people fished, Jonas is looking at the camera with from left to right Monica, Norman, Sandro and Michael. Those sitting at the picnic area were treated to a ring side seat to watch a pair of wood peckers feed their noisy young.
