Denali National Park Wednesday 22nd July
My first bear seemed friendly enough but I wasn't sure about him putting his arm on my shoulder.

We were up early to catch the 7am shuttle into the park as private vehicles are not allowed. No text required as the views were great.

Including one of the best views or Mont McKinley, the tallest mountain in North America at 6,193m.

At the first scheduled stop we saw a grizzly bear on the far bank beyond the bridge, it is there but so far away the zoom is indistinct.

More great scenery.

 Guess who?
We had seen several moose but this one was right next to th road doing an ostrich impersonation. He was just standing there with his head in a bush next to the road. Perhaps he thought that if he couldn't see us, we couldn't see him.

his moose was running down the road away from us until it saw a bus coming the other way and turned round and run back before turning off the road.

This moose ran straight past us and then 'hid' in the undergrowth a metre from the road jus around the corner and lay down and was immobile as we inched our way past.

No trip is complete without at least one bit of rail.

That evening we went to the 49th State Brewery, a restaurant cum micro brewery with more than ten beers on draft ranging from Prospectors Pale Ale at ABV 5% to Imperial Russian Stout at a whopping ABV 10.5%. I tried several and all were great until my taste buds couldn’t tell the difference and hence the grin.
