La Cumbre, Ciudad Bolivar

 La Cumbre, Ciudad Bolivar

My hotel in Ciudad Boliviar, La Cumbre. It is located at the top of a volcanic plug, all by itself so it has steep sides and wonderful views. It overlooks the Botanical Gardens and beyond, the city centre and the Orinoco. I would not stay anywhere else in Ciudad Bolivar. It is airy, quirky and oozes charm and despite its excellent position, it is not expensive. After my first visit to La Cumbre, I was hooked and would not stay anywhere else. For non Spanish speakers, La Cumbre means The Summit.
The bar, one of several but the only one currently in operation.

A view of ons or the ranges of rooms and a public area at one end of a swimming pool.

Another range of rooms.
The main swimming pool, currently under going maintenance.
The rception.
A couple of 1972 and 1957 cars to welcome visitors...they still work and are the owners' mother's and father's cars respectively, going right to left of course.

The view across the Botanical Gardens, some of the city centre and the Orinoco beyond.

Little and Large. Our long distance truck for the whole group, luggage and camping equipment, and the small 4x4 for small local group tours.
