Oh how I love major engineering projects, the Macaqua Dam on the Caroni River, just ten km upstream from its conflunce with the Orinocco,.

The entrance to the museum, the turbine halls, the ecomuseum, the artefacts discovered during construction, the history of the area and a host of other tempting tourist oportunisties that were all on offer...but it was Sunday, and they werre all shut.

Just downstream on both sides of the dam are several waterfall oportunities...

...but out attention was captivated by the antics of the monkeys in the park...
