Boca de Uchire on the Caribbean Coast
The house parrot.
We crossed the bridge over the Orinocco......a view upstream...
...the view down stream....
We passed through El Tigre, which sits on the edge of a large oilfield and there were oil pipelines running alongside the road all the way to the coast and a giant refinery with several gas flares...
...and another gas flare...
...and another.
And we reached the beach itself.
There is a tombola between two headlands and it creates a shallow lagoon ideal for wading birds.
A view across the lagoon. A gap through the mangrove swamp to the lagoon. A close up of the birds on the water. Looking across the lagoon.
Ducks, flamingoes and plovers.
Another view of the lagoon...
...dusk...
Ibis, scarlet ibis, ducks and flamegoes.
The hotel...
...the beach...
