Crossing the Great Gravel Desert
We left Nizwa and were soon heading south through the desert. And there was nothing to see.And nothing to see all day.
We had to pull off the oad to let a wide load pass....
...a side view of the load...
It in the morning, I went bird watching as the sun rose.
A lark, one o the few birds that stood still long enough to get a photo.
We stopped at Wadi Dawkah where there is a frankincense forest.
Frankincense is the dried sap of the tree used as a perfume, to scent clothes or a room. A single tree can produce ten kilograms during the season.
