Zion National Park, Sunday, 23rd August

Kodachrome Basin Campground was a basic affair, no showers, no running water and no basins but at least it did have some clean toilets and a permanent cover that luckily we didn't need despite the fact that it had rained earlier.

Betsy needs a lot of maintenance to keep her going and tonight was no exception. It can be un nerving to think that you may get stranded in the middle of no where and whilst we were out of bear country, we are in scorpion and rattlesnake country. Both our drivers are great mechanics and although Betsy still needed work on her in the morning which delayed us by half an hour, she is now working like new and purrs along even on some steep gradients.
Zoe and Seb having a working breakfast.

A little later than intended our next stop was Zion NP. There are lots of great walks including Angel's Landing but Zoe, David, Paola and me took the strenuous and steep path up to Observation Point. It was a great walk with some great views.

And at last back at the visitors centre for an ice cream.

Then we left Zion NP and headed west to an excellent campground at Virgin. Hot water, unlimited showers, river bathing, a swimming pool and spa, soft grass, ample pitches and excellent wifi. There was a fire pit but we tend to get a bit loud around the fire late at night and this was a quiet family camp site plus there was a desire for an early night as we would be hitting Vegas and partying hard so it was a relatively early night...we still chatted and drank but quietly and only the diehards were still awake gone midnight.
