Luang Prabang

 Luang Prabang

I discovered that my deodorant covered up a lot of other scents...or that the loal police dogs were as lazy as their masters.

More local wildlife.
And there are temples everywhere...
...a standing buddha...
...another shrine.
And despite the temperature and humidity, there are somw well preserved old cars about...
...and another one.

An upmarket hotel and restaurant, well out of my budget.

The start of the night market...less fancy but within budget.

I visited the national museum, the former king's royal palace, starting with the temple...
The main building...
...a couple of details of the main building...

The ferry across the Mekong.
Another view of the ferry...
...unloading at the pier.
Another ferry...
...a view of the pier on the far side of the river...
...looking back at Luang Prabang from the opposite bank...
...some of the other river traffic.

And I couldn't resist taking this photo of a gardener with a coolee hat and blue Mao suit...unfortunately this was in Laos and not China.
