Los Cobanos El Salvador and snorkelling, Tuesday, 6th October

We now have another disease to worry about...chicken ganja or more properly spelt chikungunya spread by mosquitoes..a bit like dengue with fever and joint pains. Therefore we are all smelling of DEET to keep the little buggers away.

Views of our eco lodge on the beach.

A local street scene along the beach with fishermen's boats bobbing up and down in the surf.

The small restaurant at the end of the beach where we ate yesterday evening and will return tonight.
Starting the snorkelling tour, the usual mayhem and disorganised chaos and difficulty of getting technical instructions in a foreign language but we managed between all of us.
We had three boats with four in each so we went in convoy through the rough surf to get out to sea and into deep and calmer water.

The shipwreck that we were going to see, a part of its boiler, but the visibility was so poor due to rain runoff and rough seas that we got a partial refund.

And as we walked home we came across a tortoise on its way home but it was so determined to cross the road that it ran and this is the only picture that I got and I didn't want to pick it up and pace it back on the road for a better photo.
