Floods in Jeddah 

It doesn't often rain in the desert, but when it does, it is like a monsoon, very heavy and intense.

It rained during the night and all morning. I am stranded in the hotel. I don't mind getting my feet wet, but the flooding is extensive, and you might not be sure of what else is in the water.  

I tried the back exit but the road was flooded for as far as the eye can see. A few people were driving on the main road, but nothing was moving out the back and the water was as calm as a mill pond. 

And no news about the truck stuck in the sand in the desert.
