China’s Tibetan Medicine and Culture Museum

China's Tibetan Medicine and Culture Museum

We caught a bus t this museum in the north of the city.

Specially designed and built.
One wing of the museum.
There was a lot of history to cover...starting with a display of costumes...
...diaoramas...

...a close up...

...and detail of the back of the costumes.
There were also carpets but the lighting was poor for my camera.
And plenty of models of monasteries...starting with the Potala Palace...

...and other well known ones...
...plus a collection to show different styles of monasteries.
There were also many items on display...
...until the top floor which displays the Great Yhangka of Tibetan Art and Culture. it is a religious painting 2.5 metres high and 618 metres long which gets it into the Guinness Book of Records. It took 23 years to design and sketch and four years to paint by a team of experts.
The start...
...and a few close ups of details.
