Museum of the Genocide, Yerevan

Museum of the Genocide, Yerevan

I got a taxi from the hostel to one of the top sights in Yerevan.

A view across the approach to the eternal flame. On the wall to the left of the photo are the names of the cities from which Armenians were expelled.
A view of the pillar.
A view of the structure surrounding the eternal flame.
A wreath on the outside of the monument.
The eternal flame with a scattering of fresh flowers despite the genocide being more than a century ago.

Inside there are exhibits about the continual oppression of the Armenians throughout Ottoman rule, their loss of rights and several massacres that occurred before the genocide committed in 1915 with the loss of 1.5 million Armenian lives.
The museum is situated on top of a hill so there are good views across the city and towards Mount Ararat.
A view across the roofscape of Yerevan.

And I couldn't resist taking a photo of this piece of grafitti.
