Tomar to Alvaiazere
I didn't seem to get the camera out very much today. I was out of Tomar before the sun came up and walking through pleasant countryside. It was overcast so cool and the clouds weren't blown away until lunchtime and then it was back to bright light and hear.
I took this photo as this particular sign was so different from all the others for n particular reason.A stand of cork trees.
A close up of a cork tree. The cork is the bark and it has been peeled away from the bottom metre of this tree. It doesn't harm the tree and grows back and can be harvested again in about ten years.
Another type of pillar box in the centre of Alvaiazere, pronounced as Al-vy-Ah-ze according to my guide.
