Arajuno Jungle Lodge in the Amazon jungle

One of the many small farmsteads on the road from Tena into the Ecuadorean part of the Amazon jungle.

A view of the road through the jungle, well maintained and very little traffic.
Another couple of shacks en route.

The farmers don't clear all the undergrowth from the forest but leave the best fruit trees or useful trees for word for themselves so you might see an odd tree within a maize field.
This was the main road bridge across a small river, but it had been damaged so only one vehicle was allowed across at a time. There was a ten ton limit and we were over ten tons so the passengers had to get out and walk.

It had been a hot day so we got into the water as soon as we arrived.
A photo of the canoe that got us up river to our lodge with Sonia and Shannon in the front with Shane and Jane in the second row.
Sunset over the jungle looking up river.
