Namibia, Etosha National Park

The first stop in Namibia was the famous Etosha National Park. It is a huge nature reserve and has a host of large animals that you would expect to see in Africa. I had several days of safari in the reserve to see game.
Oryx
Elephant
Oryx
Giraffe

A bird but I forget its name but Mike knows.

A lizard
Another elephant
A pair of eagles
Another oryx
A cloud...an interesting shape

Leopard
Did dik
Hartmans zebra

Guinea fowl

Banded mongoose
Wildebeest
A facial shot of a wildebeest

 A leopard tortoise
The entrance to our first camp site at Namutoni
The camp site used to be a fort built by the German colonial power to control traffic along the road although since creation of the reserve the road has been moved to skirt the reserve and the fort now for part of the campsite.
 The main tower.
A view from the top of the tower towards the nearby watering hole which attracts animals at dawn and dusk. There is a hide and the area is floodlit at night so visitors can view the animals drinking.
A giraffe and the pose it had to adopt to eat grass or to drink.
 A herd of giraffe
 The face
Ostrich

 Impala
 Black backed hyena
 A white rhinoceros
 The evening sunset
A young male lion waiting by a watering hole.
 His face
A lion hiding behind a tree
A lion walking past the vehicle

A watch tower at another camp
A view of the truck from the watch tower
A road sign not seen at home but then overland vehicles are common in Namibia and special provision is made for parking
